Easter Island Slot Background
Easter Island slots is set on the Polynesian island Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island. Although a territory of Chile, the island is in fact around 2,000 miles away from the Chilean continental mainland. The island is best known for is 887 moai statues created by the indigenous Rapa Nui about a millennium ago.
It turns out that two of those statues are a comedy duo (think Lucas and Walliams or the Two Ronnies). They officiate a 5-reel slot machine on the island. The two statues greet you with a (sort of) in tandem; “Welcome to Easter Island!” From that moment on, players can lose themselves in the pleasantly tropical soundtrack and vibrant, eye-catching and crystal-clear visuals.
In the basic game, Easter Island slots has 5-reels and 27 pay lines. The crux of the gameplay revolves around getting 1 re-spin every time you have a successful spin. Here’s how it works:
If you get a winning spin with a low pay symbol, then on the re-spin, the winning spin symbol will replace all low pay symbols. If you get a winning spin with a high pay symbol, then that will replace all the other high pay symbols on the re-spin. This happens when one of the statues sucks in all the old symbols, and the other one spits the same one out before the re-spin!
If the win is simply a three of a kind win, then the reels will stay the same dimensions (5×3). However, if you had a four of a kind win, then the reels will expand to 5×5. This gives you more chances to win as the pay lines go up to 65.
There’s more though! If you had a five of a kind win on your original spin, then the re-spin slot dimensions increase to 5×7. This means that on a five of a kind re-spin, there are a whopping 103 potential pay lines! Naturally, the biggest pay outs occur in the expanding reels re-spins.
There are also expanding wilds which can occur on reels 2 and 4. These will substitute for all symbols. If you have a wild on a winning spin, it will stick, expand, and also be present in the re-spin.

Special Bonus Features
As we have mentioned, there are no bonus rounds per se. The crux of the action revolves around the expanding reel re-spins. These are thrilling in and of themselves and it means the game moves at a storming pace. But as we’ve also mentioned, the scale and scope of this slot is much less ambitious than other new Yggdrasil slots. This is compared, for example, to the sweeping progressive slot, Ozwin’s Jackpots, which we recently reviewed.
