Archangels Salvation Slot
Archangels Salvation slot game, the brand new 12×6 reel slot from NetEnt, is notable for a number of reasons. For one, this is NetEnt’s first ever slot to have 100 bet lines. And you can see why it has so many… a 6 reel game in the modern era of video slots is something. However, the Archangels Salvation slot has 12 rows. Thus, 72 symbols displayed on any given spin make this a heavenly (and hellish) visual explosion on the senses.
Archangels Salvation Slot Background
Step aside John Milton, there’s a new battle raging between heaven and hell. If it’s “Marvel Universe does ancient biblical legend” that you’re after, then we think this will probably be your paradise found.
The basic premise of the slot is a war between the heavenly archangel and the evil archangel. The top two rows are “heaven” and the bottom two are “hell.” From their respective domains, they order skirmishes in the form of wild symbols at each other.
The slot has gorgeous graphics, and the two archangels are regal and magical all at the same time. It has an unusual visual set up with the 12×6 reels squeezed in the middle, and the two protagonists flanking either side. The number of symbols on the screen at any one time might be a little distracting for players more accustomed to fewer, larger symbols. To be honest, we found it busy, and a little bit of a strain on the eyes. But we soon got used to it… and the huge wins we received.
The Archangels Salvation slot has many in play features, including the “Hot Spot” regions at the top two and bottom two rows. When wild symbols land in either of these regions, then more wilds spit out to other parts of the slot. If new wilds appear in one of the “Hot Spots” again, then that will regenerate the wild spitting.
The wild symbols are sort of ying and yang; a half-lion, half-vulture creature which often appear at a 2×2 size. Stacks and single symbol versions only appear in the heaven and hell features brought on by the “Hot Spots.”
When a wild symbol lands fully or partially in the heaven hot spot, you will get 4 more stacks of wilds or 2 more stacks of wilds respectively. When a wild symbol lands fully or partially in a hell hot spot, you will get 16 single wilds or 8 single wilds respectively. If these extra wilds land in the other hot spots, the feature is reactivated. This, theoretically, could go on for quite some time.
As we mentioned, Archangels Salvation has the most bet lines of any NetEnt slot ever. There are 100 possible pay combinations, Frankly, due to the number of symbols on screen during any one spin, we’re surprised that there aren’t more.
Archangels Salvation Slot Free Spins
Archangels Salvation also has a “free spins” round, which triggers when you spin 3 or more scatter symbols. The more scatter symbols in a spin, the more free spins you receive. It shakes out thusly:
3 Scatters – 10 Free Spins
4 Scatters – 15 Free Spins
5 Scatters – 20 Free Spins
6 Scatters – 25 Free Spins
The “free spins” round functions pretty much as the normal game does, just with some slightly different music and graphics. However, the “hot spots” both increase by one row. This makes it far more likely for the heaven and hell features to be triggered and re-triggered.
You cannot win more free spins in a “free spins” round.

Archangels Salvation Symbols
The two highest paying symbols are of course the archangels. They appear in either blue or red lightening strikes, and form stacks across many rows.
The medium paying symbols are made up of two heavenly and two demonic images. The two good are a winged helmet and a lion, while the bad are a hooded cloak and a skull.
Finally, the low paying symbols are a diamond, a heart, a club, and a spade. The former two are good (of course) and the latter two are burning in hell.
Special Bonus Features
There is no bonus round in Archangels, only the in-play Heaven and Hell features, as well as the separate “free spins” round. In spite of this, you never feel as though the slot is lacking bells and whistles. In fact, adding a bonus round to this game could well be a case of overegging the pudding.
