How does it work?
It depends on which betting shop. For the purposes of this demonstration, we’ll take a look at three of the biggest; Ladbrokes, Paddy Power and William Hill.
If you want to deposit cash into your Ladbrokes online account, then simply stroll into your nearest Ladbrokes store and approach one of the customer support assistants. All you need is your Ladbrokes customer ID and the amount of cash that you wish to deposit. It will be credited to your online account immediately.
For withdrawing cash, the process requires a couple more steps but should be equally hassle-free. Stroll back into the store, provide your Ladbrokes Account ID/Username and enter your password onto the chip and pin machine. Note: you do not need to enter your card pin on the machine as no funds are being withdrawn from your bank account. If it is your first time withdrawing cash, then you will be asked to provide photo identification such as a passport or driving licence.
The minimum cash withdrawal is £5 and the daily maximum is £1,000. You can only withdraw cash if you made the deposit in cash. For example, if you deposited online with an e-wallet like PayPal, Neteller or Skrill, then withdrawals will have to be processed back to those payment methods.
Paddy Power Casino
In order to make cash deposits and withdrawals in Paddy Power betting shops, you’ll have to get a Paddy Power Cash Card. Once you have registered your account online, on your mobile or on the telephone, you can swing by your nearest store and pick one up. You’ll need your PaddyPower.com username, your address, and a photo ID (passport, driver’s licence or national ID card). You will be asked to create a pin and your ID will be verified. Then, log into your account online and link the cash card.
Now you can use your Paddy Power Cash Card at any Paddy Power shop in the United Kingdom or Ireland. Your online account will be linked with in-store play, and you can use the card at the counter, on betting terminals, and on gaming machines.
William Hill Casino
William Hill has a similar payment method known as the William Hill CashDirect. Rather than a card, you can deposit and withdraw cash from William Hill shops in the form of vouchers.
For the deposit voucher, you can purchase it in store with card or cash, and the 19-digit voucher number will allow you to deposit it to your account. You can also purchase a voucher in advance online with a credit or debit card.
Withdrawals can only be made through CashDirect if it was also the deposit method. On your William Hill online account, go to withdrawals and select William Hill CashDirect. Again, you will receive a 19-digit voucher which you can take to your nearest William Hill shop and receive your winnings as cash.
