It’s all systems go for Pragmatic Play at the minute. Already in March, this top provider has released a spate of live dealer titles and slots, while securing a major distribution deal that will see its entire slot portfolio made available across multiple European markets. As if this wasn’t enough, the company is also attempting to expand its presence in the burgeoning South American market. So considering how active Pragmatic Play is right now, we thought we’d take a closer look at these developments.
Thirteen casino games have been unveiled in 2021, four of which have been launched in the past couple of weeks. These include three Pragmatic Play slots and two live casino games: Fishin’ Reels, Juicy Fruits, Temujin Treasures, Mega Roulette and One Blackjack.
Fishin’ Reels is a quite shameless rip-off of Blueprint’s classic five reel slot, not only with regards to theme and playability but also for the shocking omission of the letter ‘g’ in its title. But that hasn’t stopped the game from ensnaring plenty of gamers. Currently available across more than 250 online casinos, this five reel effort features smoother, more polished visuals than Fishin’ Frenzy. While it shares the same simplistic game-play, not to mention an exact replica of FF’s free spins bonus round, Pragmatic Play’s knock-off does at least include a new ‘pick’ em side-game.
Juicy Fruits was released on March 16 and is a retro slot through and through. Highly volatile, this old-school five reel reboot has 50 pay-lines and no less than four bonus features. These include special wilds that can appear in blocks, a free spins round with roaming wilds and an ante bet option. The latter allows you to purchase additional scatters in order to unlock the free spins round, although this isn’t available in the UK.
Temujin Treasures was developed in partnership with Wild Streak Gaming and is one of the most high-profile slots released by Pragmatic so far this year. The game is inspired by the Mongolian Empire and, um, Genghis Khan? You see, Khan wasn’t actually one of the most brutal, psychopathic leaders in the history of human civilisation. No. It’s now been decided that he was a top bloke. The Pragmatic Play site says as much in its description of said despot as a ‘great leader’. Yeesh. Historical revisionism aside, Temujin Treasures is all about innovation as opposed to imitation (see the first two Pragmatic slot games). The game comprises a 4 x 5 reel layout and 1024 ways to win. The main highlight here is a six-tier Wheel of Fortune bonus game in which you can win a Grand Jackpot worth 8,888x your stake.
Mega Roulette is of course a live casino version of the classic wheel-based came that graces land-based venues around the world. This new interpretation was released by Pragmatic Play in late February and allows you to place bets of up to 5000 Euros. To spice up play even further, one to five Mega Lucky Numbers randomly appear in each round offering participants the opportunity to win as much as 500 times the initial stake.
Like Mega Roulette, Pragmatic has managed to update a classic casino table game without ruining the fundamental principles that makes blackjack so enjoyable to play. Consisting of the usual intuitive game area, One Blackjack enables players to make a series of side-bets including Crazy 7, Bust Bonus, 21 + 3 and perfect pairs. Although there’s nothing particularly new here, this latest interpretation is a good fit for Pragmatic Play’s live dealer offering and is available in more than 100 currencies.
Pragmatic Play has also decided to peddle its wares in South America. And who can blame them? With a potential user-base of over 300 million people, the region is considered fertile territory by most gambling providers. Accordingly, Pragmatic has pulled off something of a coup by securing deals with Peruvian operator Aposta365 and Venezuelan outfit Grupo Cordialito. Under the terms of both partnerships, Pragmatic’s online slots and live dealer games will be made available to these burgeoning South American markets.
A similar deal has also been struck with EFBET – one of Bulgaria’s top sport and casino gaming specialists. As of March 15, Pragmatic Play slots as well as the developer’s live casino products were made accessible to gamers in Bulgaria, Spain, Serbia and Italy.
