Mansion Group Focuses on Casinos, Shuts Down MansionBet Sportsbook

By Ralph Trayfalgar, Updated:

The Mansion Group has announced that it would be discontinuing its MansionBet sportsbook operation in a move to concentrate on their online and mobile casino sites.

The shutdown comes less than a week after gaming company Novibet withdrew its gambling licence from the United Kingdom and exited the industry for "commercial reasons."

Mansion casino group CEO Christian Block said of the closure: “After careful deliberation, we have decided to cease trading our MansionBet brand. The commercial decision was a difficult one, but it does provide [an] opportunity to focus on our casino brands, where we have a long history of excelling.

“To minimise [the] impact on consumers, we have ensured our customers’ future winnings continue to be paid out, and stakes will be returned regardless of outcome. Finally, I would like to thank all our colleagues and partners for building the sportsbook brand, and our loyal customers for their support throughout.”

The MansionBet service will officially shut down on March 31, 2022, and all customers of the service have until that date to withdraw any remaining funds from their accounts. The Mansion Group will also honour and pay out any winnings from open and active bets made until April 28, 2023. Players  can reach out to MansionBet casino customer support for further details and inquiries.

Moving Forward

A business plan detailing Mansion Group's intention to refocus on its casino operations was released at the same time as the shutdown announcement. Before making the decision to stop the Mansion sportsbook, the group allegedly performed an analysis of competitive marketing circumstances as well as the regulatory climate in the United Kingdom.

Following the closure of MansionBet, the Mansion Group will redirect its resources to focus on its online and mobile casino brands, which include Mansion Casino, Casino.com, and Slots Heaven in the UK. According to the MansionBet FAQ, the company will also be looking towards increasing its presence in other regions, particularly Canada, the US, and Spain.

The closing of the sportsbook will also have an influence on the company's sponsorship of the Bristol City Football Club, which includes the placement of MansionBet's logo on the team's home and away jerseys. The team will continue to wear its MansionBet-branded uniforms until the conclusion of the season, with the partnership coming to an end at the end of the month with the closing of the online bookmaker.
